Our Mechanical Engineering students and members of the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) ESPOL Student Chapter experienced two days of pure networking, learning, and high-impact competitions at the event organized by the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) on March 19 and 20, 2026.
They participated in design, additive manufacturing, and leadership challenges, such as:
- ASME Innovative Additive Manufacturing 3D (IAM3D®) Challenge: A competition that challenged students to design and manufacture, via 3D printing, a ground vehicle capable of collecting the largest amount of material (sand, gravel, or others) within a five-minute limit, operated via First-Person View (FPV).
- Elevator Pitch Competition: This competition challenged students to present themselves and their professional skill set in 90 seconds or less, in a clear, structured, and persuasive manner before potential employers and decision-makers.
- Oral Competition: A presentation of technical projects conducted in English.
We congratulate our students for being part of these key spaces for professional development and the technological advancement of the country, and we thank Vortex Consulting for their support.
